Red Foxes: Funeral for Beached Whale

People hold a makeshift funeral for a humpback whale that died on a beach in Canada. It died at low tide in White Rock, British Columbia, a few hours after beaching itself. It was found to be tangled in a fishing net and authorities are now trying to track down the owner of the net. After the whale died, local people held a makeshift funeral – gathering to pay their respects and laying flowers.

It’s so sad that the whale wasn’t seen in time for people to try and help but it’s beautiful and inspiring that people came and did a makeshift funeral for the poor thing. In all cases of death and grieving it’s hard to remember that all life is reborn and that even the bodies left behind give life and nourishment to other things. Bless it’s soul be.
